Whether you’re most looking forward to picking your own apples or selecting the perfect pumpkin for the spookiest jack-o’-lantern on the block, the region is abounding with possibility. Northern Colorado is home to a variety of farms and orchards that offer families, couples, and autumn-loving folks the opportunity to explore corn mazes, enjoy a peaceful afternoon sipping on apple cider and snapping the perfect selfie in the pumpkin patch. Check out these apple orchards, pumpkin patches and family-owned farms for some of the best fall outings in Northern Colorado! 

YA YA Farm & Orchard 

Where? 6914 Ute Highway, Longmont 

YA YA Farm & Orchard is a historic century-old farm that specialized in heirloom apples. Situated in Boulder County, the farm and orchard offers a wonderful u-pick apple activity that’s perfect for the whole family. The farm is also proud to offer family-oriented fall activities, so visit the farm stand and orchard this fall season and enjoy the perfect outing to embrace all things fall! Kiddos of all ages will love the mini donkeys, chickens, peacocks and the Percheron Draft horses. Bring a picnic if you’d like and enjoy all things apple, from apple cider donuts, apple pies, fresh apples and so much more. The farm does not charge an admission fee but u-pick requires prior reservations and is typically sold out by August. The quietest time to visit is on a weekday during the afternoon. Mark your calendar now for October 10th & 11th and 17th & 18th for the annual Applefest at YA YA Farm. There will be live music, BBQ, and of course, apple treats!

Adam’s Apple Orchard & Country Store

Where? 42135 County Road 43, Ault 

Adam’s Apple Orchard & Country Store is a u-pick apple orchard situated in Ault, Colorado. About 20 miles east of Fort Collins, the orchard and country store make for an enjoyable afternoon drive and activity for the whole family. Adam’s Apple Orchard primarily grows apples, along with several varieties of plums and pears. Take a leisurely stroll through the orchards and enjoy pumpkins, fresh pressed apple cider, and a range of apple varieties including Spy Gold, Jonathan, Fuji, Golden Supreme, Honeycrisp and more. Don’t forget to swing by the Country Store, which sells a diverse array of fruits, jams, cider, jellies and salsas. U-pick is available on select Saturdays and Sundays, so be sure to check picking updates ahead of time for the latest info. Anderson Farms

Where? 6728 County Road 3 1/4, Erie

Anderson Farms is Colorado’s largest fall family entertainment destination. During the fall season, you won’t want to miss out on the wide range of attractions at the annual Fall Festival (September 23rd-October 31st). Get lost in the 25-acre corn maze. Take a tractor-drawn wagon ride to the pumpkin patch and pick from over 100 varieties of pumpkins, squash, and gourds. Garden Sweet Farm

Where? 719 West Willox Lane, Fort Collins 

Garden Sweet Farm is located just north of Old Town Fort Collins and is a seasonal pick-your-own farm, a farm stand and a gathering place in NoCo. Whether you’re excited to pick flowers or berries, Garden Sweet Farm is excited to welcome you to walk the fields and enjoy nature. During the season, visitors can enjoy picking their own apples, as well as classic pumpkins, mums and winter squash at the stand. If you find yourself returning time and time again throughout the year, consider a Garden Sweet Membership. Members receive free admission, priority access to berry picking, weekly flowers and credit to use at the farm stand, plant nursery or pick-your-own. The farm stand is open from early May through October 1st. While spring is in the distance, Garden Sweet Farm is Colorado’s exclusive pick-your-own peony farm. For a short time during the spring, thousands of peonies bloom and draw visitors from near and far. Keep this farm on your radar!

Hankins Farms

Where? 26745 Weld County Road 17, Johnstown

Hankins Farms has been family owned and operated since 1910. During the fall months, Hankins Farms offers 2 mazes that have been equipped with interactive games the whole family will enjoy. There are also other activities, such as pedal karts, a corn cannon, a scavenger hunt game and more. Of course, you won’t want to skip the pick-your-own pumpkin patch with some truly giant pumpkins. The location makes for the perfect family destination when you’re looking to escape for a few hours on a crisp autumn day. For the 2026 season, the Pumpkin Patch at Hankins Farms will open on Friday, October 2nd from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The corn maze will open the next day from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, so mark your calendar and celebrate the opening weekend this fall! The fun will run through Sunday, November 1st. Tickets can be purchased online for the corn mazes and activities. The pumpkin patch is free to enter. 

Osborn Farm

Where? 1230 South Boise Avenue, Loveland 

Osborn Farm is excited to welcome NoCo residents and visitors alike to the opening weekend of the 2026 season on September 26th & 27th. From there, the farm will be open 7 days a week (weather and crop permitting). Admission is free, as is parking. For purchases made at the farm, cash and all credit/debit cards are accepted. If this is your first time visiting, closed-toe shoes are recommended, as are garden clippers, garden gloves, and bug spray. Osborn Farm has wheelbarrows but they go fast, so BYOW if you have one available. Dogs are welcome on the farm but must be leashed at all times. Pricing can be found via the website, with pumpkins of all colors set at $0.55/lb and access to the petting zoo set at $2 per visitor (cash only).  

River Ranch Farms

Where? 1220 Langston Lane, Loveland 

Head on over to River Ranch Farms this fall season for a family-friendly day at the patch that you won’t forget. The farm has been family owned and operated since 2010 and is situated along the beautiful Big Thompson River in Loveland. Parking and admission are both free and hours are from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the weekends. Hunt for your favorite pumpkin this fall and take it back home! Various forms of payment are accepted, including cash and all credit/debit cards. If you’re looking for a convenient location to grab your pumpkins for the autumn season, then River Ranch Farms should be on your list! 

The Bartels Farm

Where? 3424 East Douglas Road, Fort Collins

The Bartels Farm is a family farm that’s been around for nearly 120 years! The farm continues to take pride in serving the community and bringing friends and family together at the pumpkin patch each autumn. When that time of the year rolls around and everything smells like pumpkin spice, The Bartels Farm boasts glorious pumpkins that flood the land. Hours of operation run from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily until October 31st. There is no admission fee or parking fee. The farm only accepts cash for the time being, so plan accordingly. Additional activities at the farm include a daytime corn maze, which is priced at $5 per person or $20 for families of 5 or more, as well as hay rides! Pumpkin prices will vary based on size, not weight, with prices starting at $0.50 and going up from there. Refresh yourself with some concessions, with options on sale ranging from hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn, cotton candy, beverages and more. 

Fritzler Farm Park

Where? 20861 CR 33, LaSalle 

Fritzler Farm Park is just a short drive from Greeley and Fort Collins! The farm comes alive during the fall for the vibrant Fall Festival, which offers an abundant array of family-friendly activities. Hailing as Colorado’s original and premier pumpkin patch and fall destination, this is a can’t-miss each and every fall. The fun never stops at Fritzler Farm Park, from the Corn Flyer, Slide Mountain, the petting zoo, the Grain Train, yard games and so much more to see and do, there’s nonstop action for all ages to enjoy. On select dates, there will even be a fireworks show (September 26th & October 2nd and 3rd), weather permitting. Navigate your way through the giant corn maze before you pick the perfect pumpkin straight off the vine! Don’t forget to treat yourself to delicious festival food and a cold drink at the famous beer garden. As the sun dips and nighttime falls, the excitement continues at one of the state’s best rated haunted attractions — Scream Acres! 

Miller Farms

Where? 13912 County Road 19, Platteville 

The Fall Harvest Festival at Miller Farms runs from Labor Day through mid November! Mark your calendar now so you don’t miss out on what’s sure to be a very exciting seasonal event. There is no cost to come and visit the farm. Additional fees when visiting include hayrides and any veggies you purchase. Each person who visits the farm will need to fill out a waiver form. The Fall Harvest Festival celebrates the season with a one-of-a-kind experience. Each year, Miller Farms invites thousands of people to see what a real working farm looks like. During the fall harvest, everyone can take a tractor ride into the fields and stop along the way to pick their own produce. You may even get your own pumpkin to take with you! Besides the hayrides, there are lots of other activities for families to enjoy. Check out the corn maze, the kids play areas, the dirt hills, a hay pyramid and a unique collection of oddities and activities.
